I purchased this book because Amazons web site recommended it to me based on my past purchases and the recommendations of its members. Ironically this software as a service type crowdsorcing system is part of what is being discussed in the book itself.

For me open source as a business is fascinating. The idea of building a business that embraces its customer community in a collaborative way is something I have spent a lot of time thinking about in the last year so this book was a spot on recommendation for me.

One of the things I particularly liked about the book is that it is a collection of essays by experts and influencers in the open source community but they don’t all agree and they don’t all talk with one voice. I found this collection of counter point views made for interesting reading and provided a balance to the theories presented.
