“Chesbrough is not the first academic to grasp the superior economic value of intellectual over tangible property in today’s economy. But he may be the one who has thought most deeply about its consequences for business.”
I could not put this book down! it is full of insightful examples of the benefits and downfalls of embracing a more open attitude to your companies IP. Open source is covered in part but the primary focus of the book is on the business benefits big companies like IBM and GSK are realizing by sharing their patents and general IP with external companies.. even competitors.
