Jamie Fristrom over at GameDevBlog has credited Portal with rekindling his faith in gaming! I don’t have time (make time) to play games at the moment; very busy at work and if I ever do get time off I try to spend it with the wife or out with my camera.

We do however have a game room at work with a big screen and every console from the last 10 years (benefit of working in the industry) and Portal is the hot game in there at the moment. I have sat in a few times and that game kills me, its so much fun even to watch! The computer voice it the defining aspect for me.. the rumbling computer synthesized female voice (that is apparently not synthesized) just talks endlessly, a seemingly random stream of thought… there are even cake making instructions in there somewhere. This stream of thought monolog is the kind of creativity that sets Portal above most I have seen for a good long time.

Portal is perhaps even good enough to make time for! Perhaps it really is a faith rekindling game!
