Over on Lawrence GG Brown’s blog BrownBlog he has a nice post recalling his Most Embarrassing Sales Moment.

Reading it made me cringe with him in embarrassment and it made me think back to my most embarrassing moment in a sales presentation; so I thought I would also share..

I was selling Alienbrain at the time; it is a software system that lets game development teams track all the art assets they create during production of a game. When you set up the system the first thing it does is suck up all the images on your computer and sort them, give you thumbnails and preview capabilities etc.

On one of my first solo outings I was at this studio (that will remain nameless) in the UK, I installed the system on the lead artists computer and the system set about sorting all the images on his computer. I gathered the team around his desk for a tutorial/presentation and proceeded to navigate his image collection.

To my horror and to the amusement of the team most of the images on his computer were hardcore porn. I am no prude but from that point on I ran demos from my computer with an art repository I built.
