I am so thrilled that our work on PS3 is starting to get coverage I had to call it out!
At Sony’s DevNet last year we showed off an early prototype of our Floodgate technology, it was a simple little developer art app with morphing objects (but lots of them) and a slider that controled dynamicaly how many SPU’s to use.
Sony got excited and invited us out to Japan where we demonstrated the Floodgate API to a bunch of their people, it was very cool and the people who went on the trip came back buzzed by the reaction, the technical conversations and talk of letting us put Gamebryo up on DevNet!
We have been working on getting Floodgate ready and just in time for GDC08 we went live on DevNet… and already we have 50 teams (http://www.pr.com/press-release/78163) evaluating our PS3 engine! how cool is that.
Adam Creighton (http://www.adamcreighton.com/welcome.html) Gamebryo Product Manager, was the driving force behind our DevNet launch and it is great that his hard work is paying off.
Great work Adam!
